SOMETHING YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT CANADA: Scott Thompson On Our First World War Vaudeville Soldiers

Tomorrow is Canada Day, and we've got a great Canadian story you may not have heard: Scott Thompson stopped by the show to tell the story of The Dumbbells, a group of First World War soldiers whose job was to entertain the troops on the front lines.

Even if they had to get dressed up as ladies to do it.

As Scott says, the group paved the way for many of the hilarious Canadian comedy groups who came afterwards, like Wayne & Shuster, the Royal Canadian Air Farce... And yes, a bunch of guys named The Kids in the Hall.
