Michaëlle Jean And Jean-Daniel Lafond On Quebec's Student Protests

Former Governor-General the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean and her husband Jean-Daniel Lafond join George in the red chair to talk about art, youth, and self-expression. Madame Jean also weighs in about the ongoing student protests in Quebec and how those protests could affect change.

Madame Jean and Jean-Daniel Lafond are on the show tonight, along with Cobie Smulders.

In this clip, Madame Jean and her husband Jean talk about...

The constructive aspects of student protest
"It is a demonstration of our democratic life.

Of course, some may not agree with what they are saying and there are one-third of the students who are demonstrating and two-thirds who are still in class. I think as long as it becomes part of a process of dialogue, of negotiation, and turns into something constructive, it's not in vain. It's not in vain."
