Now that the whole country is blanketed with snow and the winter sports season is in full swing, it's a good moment to consider the impact of concussions. As Dr. Mike Evans - an associate professor of family medicine and public health at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto - says in the video below, "your brain is you". And the brain is potentially very fragile, especially when it's exposed to a hit.
For parents, active kids, and anyone else playing winter sports, this visual lecture is a great reminder of how to deal with concussions.
