Valerie Bertinelli literally grew up on television. Born in Wilmington, Delaware, she begged her parents to let her take acting classes. And, by the age of fifteen, she landed the role of sweet, straight-laced 'Barbara Jean Cooper' on 'One Day at a Time.

The show took off and ran for nearly ten years - and it made Valerie an instant celebrity. But her fame didn't end there. If anything it got bigger, when Valerie - at twenty years old - married Eddie Van Halen. They stuck it out together for about twenty years, but it wasn't always easy. There were drugs, affairs, but there were good moments too... most notably, the birth of their son Wolfgang.

Wolfie is seventeen now, and following in his dad's footsteps - with mom's blessing. He's on the road playing with Van Halen!

But back to Valerie: through the years, she's been obsessed with her weight. Currently, she's a spokesperson for Jenny Craig. She's lost forty pounds and put out a new book called 'Losing It - And Gaining My Life Back One Pound at a Time.'
