When it comes to strong, fearless women on TV, it's hard to imagine any character more strong or more fearless than Marg Delahunty - not to mention her creator, Mary Walsh.

Most Canadians got to know Mary on This Hour Has 22 Minutes, a satirical news show that was ahead of its time. Even now, Mary has the power to strike fear in the hearts of politicians (just ask Toronto mayor Rob Ford).

Mary's comedic sensibility was nurtured by her home province, Newfoundland and Labrador, and the characters she's created are as diverse as Canada itself.
