Incredible Photography By Mystery Woman

Ever go to a garage sale or flea market and find a hidden treasure? John Maloof bought a box of photo negatives at an antique sale and discovered the work of an incredible street photographer.

Vivian Maier worked as a nanny in Chicago during the 50s and 60s. On her days off she would leave with her camera in the morning and not come back until late at night. She amassed a huge body of work but she never showed it to anyone. She barely developed any of the film. Her work was in a storage locker until 2009 when it was sold off due to delinquent payments. Maloof bought one box of the pictures but once he realized how incredible the work was he tracked down the rest; about 100,000 pictures, films and audio recordings. John's full time job is sorting through Vivian's work and unraveling the mystery of who she is.
