Top Baltimore Cop Rips On The Wire

I've gone on the record many times saying that not only is 'The Wire' my favourite television series ever, it just might be THE best TV series ever to exist. If you're a fan, then you understand my obsession... If you haven't seen it, it shows the raw and often brutal side of Baltimore cops, politicians, media, criminals, kids and the education system... The characters are striking, the dialogue is almost Shakespearean, and the edge is jagged.

The show hasn't just left it's mark on me. Hell, universities are now offering classes on the series...

So it's no sursprise that Baltimore's Police Commissioner, Frederick H. Bealefeld detests the show and the way Baltimore appears in it... He recently said that the show is a "smear on this city that will take decades to overcome."

That's right, Bealefeld - you're not Miami, you're not New York, you're not LA. You're Baltimore.

The show's creator, David Simon has officially responded to Bealefeld. Read his open letter here.

Stringer, Avon, Bodie, D'Angelo, Snoop, Kima, McNulty, Bunk, Bunny, Bubbles and OMAR forever!
