Think You Really Know Canadian Books? Take This Quiz

This year marks the 20th edition of the Scotiabank Giller Prize, a literary award recognizing an English-language novel or short story collection published by a Canadian author each year.

The prize, and the $70,000 purse that goes with it, is judged by a panel of writers and literary experts. This year Margaret Atwood, Esi Edugyan and Jonathan Lethem will decide who gets the award.

To celebrate the 20-year milestone, CBC Books has put together a 20-question quiz to test how well you know your Giller winners.

If you think you've got Can Lit chops, head over to the CBC Books site to find out.

You'll probably also want to enter CBC Books' Giller of All Gillers contest. All you have to do is say which of the 20 winning books you think is the greatest of them all — submit your choice, and an explanation in 250 words or less, for a chance to win a copy of every single Giller winner from past 20 years, plus a Kobo eReader. The contest is open until 11:59 p.m. on September 16.
