IMAGES OF THE DAY: More Honest Book Titles

Did you ever look at a book title and think "there's a more honest name for that"?

For instance: Stieg Larsson's 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.' For a lot of people, it was the first book they'd read in a while. So:

And if you strip away the laughter from Charlie Brown, you might be left with this:

These are two entries from Dan Wilbur's website, 'Better Book Titles.' He started the site back in 2010 with a few "improved" book titles of his own. As it grew in popularity, he started asking other people to submit new ones.

This week Dan released a book called 'How Not to Read: Harnessing the Power of a Literature-Free Life' (based on how well he knows the many, many books he makes fun of, the title's probably not serious). It features some of his favourite retitled book covers from the site, plus some brand new ones.

Of course, Dan had to subject his own book to the treatment he's given to so many others. Here's the original cover:

And here are a couple of his readers' retitled versions:

Check out a few more of the retitled books from his site below, and see if you can guess what books these are based on. And head over here to see them all.
