Canada Reads 2012, Day One: It's On!

February 6, 2012

Today is Day One of Canada Reads 2012, CBC's annual elimination book tournament. With five titles in the running to be named Canada's must-read book of the year (and the first non-fiction contest in the history of the series), the Canada Reads panelists made the case for their selected books today on CBC's Radio One.

We asked them to give us a sneak peek of their picks and the reasons why we should read their favourite books. Here is an exclusive clip of each panelist advocating for their choice for Canada Reads:

So what was the first book voted out? And what else happened on Day One? Take a visit to the Canada Reads website to get all the latest developments.
