Where To Find George At TIFF
September 6, 2012
submit to reddit

Well, TIFF is underway, and George is doing a lot of great stuff. If you're in town, here's a guide to where he'll be in the coming days.

As well as attending and hosting events, George will be taping the first interviews of the new season. So if you want to get up close and personal with some of the stars of the Festival, you can get FREE tickets to show tapings right here. There will be some big stars in the red chair.

Here's a run-down of the events George is involved with at TIFF:

Thursday , September 6 - 'American Beauty' Table Read - 6 pm

Director Jason Reitman has gathered an impressive cast to do a table read of 'American Beauty' tonight at the Ryerson Theatre at 6 pm: Christina Hendricks, Bryan Cranston, comedian Paul Scheer, Adam Driver, Mae Whitman, Sarah Gadon and yes, George. Woody Harrelson was originally due to play a part, but he got stuck in Hawaii (really Woody? "Stuck in Hawaii"?).

Friday, September 7 - Snoop Lion Press Conference - 3 pm

Snoop Lion (the new name of the artist formerly known as Snoop Dogg) is in town to promote his new documentary 'Reincarnation,' and George is hosting the press conference for the film. It's happening at TIFF Bell Lightbox at 3 pm.

Film Noir Party In Support Of Artists For Peace And Justice - 9 pm

Paul Haggis and Natasha Koifman are co-hosting this invitation-only event with George. Proceeds from the event will benefit Artists for Peace and Justice (APJ) and their work in Haiti. The party starts at 9, and it's on a film noir theme, so expect a lot of dapper gents, femme fatales, and fedoras.

ACCT Party - 10 pm

The last event of a busy day for George. As you may have heard, the Genies and the Geminis are merging into a single award, and this is the party to celebrate. The CBC is one of the sponsors, and it takes place at the Shore Club next to the Ritz Carlton.

Saturday, September 8 - APJ 2012 Festival Lunch - 3 pm

The Festival Lunch will benefit the APJ's work in Haiti, and in particular the school they founded there. This year's hosts are George, Jude Law, Trudie Styler and Paul Haggis, and there will be musical performances from Raine Maida, Chantal Kreviazuk, K'naan and members of Arcade Fire.

TIFF Rising Stars Party - 9 pm

This is where you could see the stars of the future. The TIFF Rising Stars event celebrates new talent from this year's Festival.

Tuesday, September 11 - Moderating 'Fight Like Soldiers, Die Like Children'

In the upcoming documentary 'Fight Like Soldiers, Die Like Children,' Romeo Dallaire visits Africa to address the horrific practice of forcing children to fight as soldiers. On Tuesday, Mr. Dallaire, Mr. Reed and producer Peter Raymont will present portions of the film at TIFF and discuss the process of making it. George will moderate the discussion, which takes place at TIFF Bell Lightbox 3 from 2:30-4:30 pm.

Friday, September 14 - Mavericks Session with Shit Girls Say Creators - 6 pm

Toronto-based actors and filmmakers Kyle Humphrey and Graydon Sheppard are the masterminds behind the viral sensation 'Shit Girls Say.' On Friday at 6 pm, George will host a discussion with the duo - and they'll premiere a brand new episode of the series on the big screen.
