VIDEO OF THE DAY: Epic Tea Time With Alan Rickman

Alan Rickman has signed on to play CBGB owner Hilly Kristal in an upcoming film about the legendary punk-rock club. It'll be directed by Randall Miller and tell the story of how the club, which Kristal opened as a bluegrass venue, became home for the American punk-rock movement in the late seventies - playing host to artists like The Ramones, Blondie, Beastie Boys, Bad Brains, The Mistfits, Talking Heads and Patti Smith.

He's the sort of actor that can make anything exciting, but have you ever imagined what Rickman would look like preparing tea in extreme slow-motion, set to the song 'Mind Heist' from that 'Inception' trailer? Well, fear not: now you can experience Mr. Rickman's dramatic teatime ritual in its full glory.

This short was a part of David Michalek's 'Portraits in Dramatic Time' a series that included "ultra slow-motion video portraits" of Rickman, William H. Macy, Holly Hunter and other actors. These videos were projected onto a gigantic screen at David H. Koch Theater at New York's Lincoln Center last year. If the intense, slow movements begin to bore you, just wait until 4:25. Trust us.
