How do you know you've made it as an artist? There's probably no single answer to that question. But if Tom Waits is narrating a whimsical documentary about your life, there's a good chance you've done a thing or two right.

This short documentary about John Baldessari was commissioned by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) for their first annual 'Art + Film Gala', honouring John Baldessari and Clint Eastwood. The doc details Baldessari's career, his decision to "cremate" all the artwork he created between 1953 and 1966, and his call for "no more boring art".

According to Tom Waits, he narrated the film at the request of John himself. Check it out below:
