Some Strombo Team Members Are Making A Movie: 'My Heritage'

We are always excited to share work by our talented team members with you.

While on summer hiatus, some members of the George Tonight team have been working on a mockumentary short-film entitled 'My Heritage'.

Philip Leung, who you might have seen several times on the program, is also a screenwriter.

He recently wrote this short film about Chun Kit, a white man who was adopted and raised by his immigrant Asian father. Chun grows up resenting his "Tiger Dad," because he thinks nobody in North America understands the "white oriental." In an act of defiance, Chun Kit decides to cut all ties with his father and abandons the man who loves him the most. Leung describes it as "Spinal Tap" meets "The Joy Luck Club".

The 'My Heritage' team has released a short clip of one of their scenes, featuring Chun Kit exploring his culture.

Other Team Strombo members on this project include researcher and radio-producer Alex Narvaez in the director's chair, producers Sophie Kohn and Mike Fleury in acting roles, and editor Lucius Dechausay.

They're joined by Marciel Dicion, Kiersty Hong, Tony Leung and Anthony Leung - find out more about the whole cast and crew on the official website.

They have the story, the players and the heart - but, unfortunately the funding is not as easy to come by.

If you've ever wanted to be a part of a film, 'My Heritage Film' is looking for your support. Their IndieGoGo campaign hopes to raise $4,000 over the next month.

And there are a lot of perks for donations, from private screening tickets to an executive-producer credit.
