IMAGES OF THE DAY: Artist Spends Months Drawing City Of London By Hand
August 16, 2012
submit to reddit

If you're planning a trip to London, or would like to go there one day, may we recommend taking this absolutely incredible map along.

It was done by a graphic designer named David Ryan Robinson. He spent nearly six months drawing his own map of London by hand, right down to every last detail.

All the major landmarks are there - London Bridge, the Tower of London, Big Ben, The Parliament Buildings, Trafalgar Square, Hyde Park and Buckingham Palace (which is decorated with a crown).

And recently, he added Olympic Park complete with the Olympic Stadium and the velodrome.

One of his most detailed maps is the London zoo, which lays out where all the animals are.

David, who's 23, moved to London not long ago, and didn't know the city that well. So, he decided to challenge himself and draw his own map to help him get around.

When he finished, David wrote on his blog "I feel like some sort of illustration god right now."
