CBC And TIFF Are Hosting Some Major Cinematic Talent

The 2013 Toronto International Film Festival kicks off September 6, and in addition to the film screenings, audiences will have opportunities to connect with the talented people who make movies, including directors, actors, producers and visual artists.

As part of a new partnership between CBC and TIFF, announced today, the Glenn Gould Studio will play host to talks including the Moguls series, Keynote Conversation, Doc Conference, Telefilm Canada's PITCH THIS! and Master Class.

Lots of CBC folks (including George) will be leading discussions, and TIFF's annual Canada Party will go down in the Toronto Broadcast Centre on Saturday September 7 (that one's by invitation only).

George will be hosting a Mavericks Session with Ron Howard on Saturday, September 7 to talk about Made In America, the director's new documentary about the rise of Jay Z, and preparations for the 2012 music festival of the same name. The film's world premiere takes place after George and Ron's chat at the TIFF Lightbox.

Harvey Weinstein is also in town to talk '12.12.12', a film documenting the Concert for Sandy Relief. Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Paul McCartney, Kanye West, The Who and Alicia Keys all star in the doc, which gets its world premiere screening at TIFF followed by a live chat between Weinstein and George at the Winter Garden Theatre.
