There is no shortage of Muppet-related activity tied to next week's release of The Muppets, the first new film release to feature Jim Henson's beloved felt creations since 1996's Muppet Treasure Island. From branded singalongs to a full-blown inter-Muppet smackdown tournament, Kermit the Frog and friends are making a welcome reappearance in the public eye - Kermit himself was in the red chair just two weeks ago.
Illustrator David Vordtriede has come up with his own tribute to the world's most famous puppets: a Muppet alphabet.
The Muppabet, as Vordtriede calls it, is a series of portraits of individual Muppets with the first-letter of their names. He has been creating one a day since the end of October, in order to have the full set of 26 completed in time for the movie's release date on November 23. By yesterday he was up to letter U, calling upon the lesser known Uncle Deadly to fit the bill.
