Think you have an idea for a big screen movie, but you don't have enough money lying around to make it? Well, this could be your big break.
All you have to do is apply for Cinecoup Film Accelerator.
The whole idea behind it is to give aspiring filmmakers a chance to make a movie and have it released in Cineplex theatres - guaranteed.
The video at the top of the page lays out the basic idea.
In terms of specifics, here's what you have to do.
Put together a two-minute trailer and sign-up here to be notified when CineCoup opens for applications.
From there, you'll be asked to do a few things:
Carry out missions each week to develop and package your concept
Promote your project across social networks - and beyond...
Build an audience to help you advance
Submit a marketing strategy
From there, the Top 10 projects are optioned for development and put together crowdfunding campaigns. Then, a jury of film industry experts narrow it down to the Top 5.
And finally, one project is selected to receive up to $1 million (CDN) to pay for production and a guaranteed release in Cineplex theatres in the fall of 2013.
That's right, the whole thing comes together in less than a year.
This week, on Wednesday November 21, the folks at CineCoup kicks off a cross Canada tour.
They'll be travelling across the country to meet filmmakers, share ideas and as they put it "throw down a "juicy, creative gauntlet for indie film in Canada."
They have special events planned in 11 cities.
The tour wraps up at the Whistler Film Festival on Saturday, December 1st - where CineCoup is hosting a launch party and a national livestream on Twitter.
At the end of the livestream, they'll officially turn on the "CineCoup machine" to allow filmmakers to apply.
