What do a Canadian late-night TV host and a blind singing duo from Mali have in common? 2011 has seen 'em both appointed to be ambassadors for the UN's World Food Programme. We want to give a big congrats to Amadou and Mariam, whose ambassadorship was announced this week.
Amadou and Mariam are beloved humanitarians and musicians whose uplifting, bluesy-pop sound and infectious rhythms resonate with people all over the world. The pair has just returned from a stint in Haiti, where the WFP is working to rebuild community.
