A London supermall just released this pretty impressive viral video-mercial called "100 YEARS / STYLE / EAST LONDON" that spans 100 years of London fashion.
Because the quick-cutting clip also spans 100 years of dance crazes, it reminded us of comedian Judson Laipply's 2006 YouTube hit, "Evolution of Dance" (almost 180 million views!), and his follow-up, "Evolution of Dance 2" (still very respectable with just over 17 million hits).
In the years since Judson first busted moves for the world, he's won more than a few admiring imitators; Quebec director Patrick Boivin put Optimus Prime on a stage, an end of year ballet recital shook off Swan Lake, and a bridal party threw down, Tron-style, in glowstick-clad jumpsuits.
But is WSC's "100 YEARS" video necessarily another in a line of Judson Laipply's heirs? It's clear that "100 YEARS" is a much more labour-intensive work with high production values and a unique creative spin, but part of their concept seems similar.
