Earlier this year, Dutch conceptual artist Florentijn Hofman delighted Hong Kongers when he set a giant rubber duck afloat in that city's Victoria Harbour (it later deflated).

Now Hofman has pulled off a similar feat in the Dutch city of Arnhem with the installation of a bright red, 136,000-tonne aardvark wearing a party hat, Inhabitat reports. The concrete animal was commissioned by the city's Royal Burgers Zoo, which is celebrating its 100-year anniversary (it's the only Dutch zoo with an aardvark among its animals).

The 30-metre-long sculpture, named Feestaardvarken (Partyaardvark), quickly became a giant playground for children after its official opening on Thursday.
