CHRISTMAS THING OF THE DAY: More Star Wars For The Holidays

When we started our list of Christmas Things of the Day, one of the first items we came across was Chris McVeigh's instructions for building your own Star Wars ornaments out of Lego.

But we didn't realize just how popular the Star Wars Lego Christmas meme is. The brick-building toy line began releasing Star Wars-themed sets in 1999, and the miniature characters and pieces have become popular materials for animators. The makers now sponsor a video contest, in which Lego users are invited to make their own Christmas-themed Lego Star Wars video.
