As exciting as a new year always is, it also means we're all going to be another year older. But as they say, you're only as young as you feel. And these folks are definitely proof of that.

From a Chinese grandfather who's a fashion icon, to a gymnast in her 80s, to a guy who makes Norm from 'Cheers' look like a lightweight.

Here are our top 5 favourite senior citizens of the year. Click on the links to see the original posts.

She did gymnastics as a kid, gave it up when she had a family and picked it up again in her 50's - performing in her first competition at 56.

This year, she appeared on the ITV show in Britain, where she performed on the parallel bars - including scissor twists, hand stands and a perfect dismount.

With this speech, Clint Eastwood has some people wondering if he'd been to the pub before he walked on stage.

Eastwood was billed as a star speaker at the Republican National Convention. But by the time he was done, words like weird and bizarre were being tossed around.

The highlight came when Eastwood spoke to an empty chair, meant to represent President Barack Obama.

At times, he scolded the chair (Obama) - telling it to "shut up." And he asked the chair "what do you want me to tell Romney? I can't tell him to do that. He can't do that to himself. You're absolutely crazy."

This is Jose Mujica, the president of Uruguay. He's 77 and lives on a modest farm, earning about $775 a month - which is an average salary in Uruguay.

Most of that money he gives away (about $12,000 a month) to poor people and small business owners.

He says "I don't feel poor. Poor people are those who only work to try to keep an expensive lifestyle, and always want more and more."
