Gelareh's Bio

Gelareh Darabi is very excited to be co-hosting Street Cents this season out of Halifax. Originally from Vancouver, she was the West Coast reporter for the show last season.

Gelareh began her career in journalism as a globetrotting fashion columnist for The Westender weekly paper. She went on to study broadcast journalism at BCIT and worked as a news Floor Director and as an Associate Producer for the very early Breakfast Television on Citytv. She completed the program with a 2-month internship in the newsroom at KEYT in Santa Barbara.

When Gelareh is not out there busting brands or getting the scoop on the latest deals, Gelareh is an avid traveler and reader. She speaks three languages (English, French and Farsi) and un poco espaņol. She hopes to turn her love for culture, languages and people into a career as a foreign correspondent.

Her favorite stories from last season were the wet suits buyers guide filmed in gorgeous Tofino BC and the comical stinky hockey gear story. Gelareh has her long johns and mitts ready to go as she rocks the East Coast this season.
