Street Cents Awards

Street Cents wins a Gemini!

On November 3, 2002 at the Gemini Awards in Toronto, Ontario, Street cents took home the prize for Best Non-Fiction Children's or Youth Program or Series!

Kim, Darryl, Executive Producer Barbara Kennedy and Senior Producer Susan Rogers, as well as the producers from Toronto, were on hand to accept the prize - and then brought it back to Halifax to share with the rest of us!

This is the seventh Gemini Street Cents has won!

Season 13 awards (2001-2002)

On November 20, 2001, Street Cents won an International Emmy award in the category of Children and Young People's Programming.

That was the third award Street Cents won during our 13th season on the air and the second nomination for an International Emmy.

On October 30, 2001, Street Cents was awarded a Gemini award for best children/youth program.

Also in October, 2001, Street Cents won an English Television Award for our "remarkable, responsible, commercial-free programming that strikes a chord with Canadian youth." Gosh. We're blushing.

Thanks to all the viewers who have written letters, appeared on the show and given us the great ideas we research for the program. You all rock!
