But what about the slogan: Drink it. Get it?

We called Pepsi and told them about the calculations we did. We wanted to know why you pretty much have to buy points in order to get any of the top prizes.

Here's what their Vice President of marketing had to say, "We know how much (pop) people are consuming from our confidential data." He also says, "I think we’ve created a prize pool, and the rules and regs that allow our loyal drinkers to be able to get some Pepsi stuff that they like."

Street Cents pointed out that 18 bottles a day is a bit much even for a loyal drinker. We asked how likely it is that someone could drink their way to a top prize, as the slogan suggests.

Pepsi says in past promotions it’s been families who pool their points and redeem them for prizes. "The average Pepsi drinking household would comfortably, with just their regular consumption, be able to get some of the items in our prize pool." "It depends on how big your family is, how much you drink."

But what about that poor solo drinker?

Street Cents wondered if Pepsi would ever increase the length of the promotion so people working without their Pepsi-drinking clan could earn enough points for top prizes. But Pepsi says they won't do that because in the past, when the program was longer, people said they lost track of their points and lost interest in the contest.
