With no announcements of new policy expected from the Liberal camp, it's apparent they are counting on the coming announcement about health-care wait times to reflect well on them. The provincial and federal health ministers are to announce benchmarks for wait times on Monday.
Conservative Leader Stephen Harper is in Buckingham, Que., where he's expected to announce tax credits for families who enroll their children in sports activities.
He will also probably comment further on remarks made over the weekend by a top Liberal aide, referring to the Conservatives' proposed child-care allowance as money for "beer and popcorn."
Harper moves on to Peterborough, Ont., later in the day.
Jack Layton of the NDP will be in Toronto where he'll announce his own party's day-care plan.
Gilles Duceppe starts his day in Vaudreuil, Que., and is later expected to announce the Bloc Québécois agriculture policy during a stop in Ste-Hyacinthe, Que.
