The New Democratic Party candidate for the Yukon says she's ready for a rematch against the Liberal incumbent.
Pam Boyde says she believes the NDP is poised for a breakthrough in Ottawa, and Yukoners should vote to get rid of what she calls a "corrupt" and "tired" Liberal government.
"I believe that what Yukon needs is a very strong voice out there advocating for things for the Yukon, for the initiatives Yukoners are trying to do, not just lobbying here and there," she says.
Boyde lost the last election to Liberal incumbent Larry Bagnell by more than 2,500 votes.
She's urging Yukoners to avoid voting "strategically" this time – voting Liberal in order to keep the Conservative party from forming a government.
She says people should vote for what they believe in.
Nunavut NDP candidate is former Liberal supporter
New Democrats have chosen Amanda Ford-Rogers as their party's candidate in Nunavut.
Ford-Rogers works as the constituency assistant to Hunter Tootoo, the MLA for Iqaluit Centre.
She was raised in Whale Cove and now lives in Iqaluit.
In a party news release, Ford-Rogers, 35, is described as passionate on the issues of health, housing and violence.
She says she has voted Liberal in the past, but says they've made too many promises they haven't kept.
She says Nunavut needs a member of Parliament who will speak up in the House of Commons.
The incumbent, Liberal Nancy Karetak-Lindell, has won the seat in the last four elections.
