Backstage Q & A: Cesar Millan

They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks...or can you? We caught up with celebrity dog trainer Cesar Millan, a.k.a. "The Dog Whisperer," backstage to get all the answers.

Cesar Millan has been around dogs since he was a child growing up on his grandfather's farm in Culiacán, Sinaloa in northernwestern Mexico. Today he is one of the most influential dog trainers in the world, backed by his popular television series, The Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan, and an A-list roster of celebrity dog owners, including Oprah and Jada Pinkett Smith. On his technique, Millan says: "I rehabilitate dogs. I train people."

The dog whisperer is currently promoting his upcoming Canadian tour, Trust Your Instincts, a live seminar on how to "build happier, healthier relationships between humans and their canine companions."

We caught up with Millan backstage to talk about the most common mistake dog owners make when training their dog and address the question of whether old dogs can learn new tricks.
