The Alkaline Diet is based on the theory that eating certain foods can help maintain the body's ideal pH balance to improve overall health. Some experts believe you need a higher pH level to improve energy levels, lose weight, and reduce pain and inflammation for healthy teeth and gums.
You can determine your pH level using an easy at-home test, which will show you where you fall on the pH scale, illustrated above. Ideally, your body should maintain a pH level of 7.
