Sugared Fruit

These sparkling fruits are almost too pretty to eat...almost.

fresh cherries with stems
fresh kumquats (with leaves)
Cape gooseberries
seedless grapes
fresh cranberries
1/4 cup lemon juice (approximate)
1/2 cup granulated sugar (approximate)
1/4 cup sparkling sugar (approximate)
gluten-free icing sugar, for dusting

  1. Wash and dry fruit well, preserving integrity of stems and leaves.
  2. Place sugars in separate bowls.
  3. Pour lemon juice in a bowl broad enough to coat fruit. Pan fruit in lemon juice, then follow with sugars to coat completely. Allow to dry and arrange as a beautiful and delicious centrepiece for your holiday table.
