This pesto recipe from Sandy Gold can be mixed with three different ingredients to make a variety of exfoliators perfect for different skin types.
5 Cups Basil Leaves, rinsed and patted dry
4 Cloves of Garlic
1/4 Cup Walnuts
1/4 Cup Ground Flax Seeds
3/4 Cup Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Pinch Sea Salt and Freshly Ground Pepper to Taste
- Combine all ingredients in a food processor. Season with salt and pepper.
- Serve over hot pasta, sprinkled with fresh parmesan cheese.
- This pesto will keep for a week in the fridge and/or up to one month in the freezer.
Exfoliator 1: Dry Skin
Mix 1 tbsp of the flax seed and walnut pesto with 1 tbsp chia seed paste.
Exfoliator 2: Sensitive Skin
Mix 1 tbsp of the flax seed and walnut pesto with 1 tbsp cooked oatmeal.
Exfoliator 3: Oily Skin
Mix 1 tbsp of the flax seed & walnut with ½ tbsp raw apple cider vinegar.
