Lightened-Up Blue Cheese Dip

Greek yogurt gives this blue cheese dip all the creaminess it needs without the addition of sour cream or mayonnaise. Serve with crunchy baked pita chips and crudites.

Ingredients

1/3 cup crumbled good-quality blue cheese, such as Roquefort
1/4 cup buttermilk
1 cup 0% plain Greek yogurt
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp liquid honey
1 clove garlic, pressed or grated
1/4 tsp pepper
2 green onions, sliced
1 tbsp chopped fresh dill

Preparation

In bowl, mash blue cheese with buttermilk until smooth with a few chunks remaining. Stir in yogurt, lemon juice, honey, garlic and pepper until combined; stir in green onions and dill.

Baked Pita Chips

These are a super easy, healthy alternative to store-bought fried chips. Cut 2 large whole wheat pitas in 8 wedges each; arrange in single layer on baking sheet. Stir together 1 tbsp olive oil, 1/4 tsp dried Italian herb seasoning and pinch salt; brush over pitas. Bake in 400F (200F) oven until crispy and golden, 6 to 8 minutes. (Make-ahead: Store in airtight container for up to 24 hours.)

Yield: 1 2/3 cups
