Need to decorate your room on a budget? Here are some design ideas to pull together a stylish space for less than $750!
One of the least expensive and easiest ways to add impact to any room is by using paint. Here we painted the wall a soft blue up top and a creamy white on the bottom, and this set the tone for the entire room.
Since we wanted to keep costs down, we made the bed out of brand new pallets. These are typical shipping pallets you would find discarded outside of big box stores once they're no longer needed. We sanded them down and then painted them white giving the bed a clean look. The total cost to make this bed frame was $150.00. If you're bringing pallets into the home, make sure you find ones that are clean and chemical-free, otherwise you might end up breathing in toxic chemicals which are not safe for you or your family.
For our bed sheets, we bought an inexpensive white sheet set. White sheets never go out of style and you can buy them pretty much anywhere. To make them more unique, we dip dyed the pillows blue to give this room a relaxed vibe and paired it with a linen duvet cover to add more texture.
Layering lighting is ultra important in a bedroom. Here we went with a simple drum shade that we spray painted blue, a sculptural grey side lamp and a standing industrial-style light in matte black to add a masculine edge to the room.
This chair's a flea market find. After sanding it down and painting it white we realized we wanted to give it a little more personality so we dip dyed it blue to match the bedding.
Instead of buying art, we made our own. We found some photos on a stock photography website, blew them up to size and framed them in inexpensive frames. You could even create your own cool artwork – grab your camera and start taking photos!
