It's a feast for the eyes—literally! Our resident beauty expert, Christine Cho, reveals her fave store-bought and homemade remedies for the most common eye complaints: dark circles, puffiness and fine lines!
Dark circles are caused by blood pooling under the eye. Eliminate them by increasing microcirculation to improve blood flow and remove any excess blood from the area.

Homemade helpers The catecholase enzyme and vitamin K found in the potato and cucumber are both natural skin lighteners—perfect for an at-home remedy! To make, grate equal parts cucumber and potato into a cheesecloth. Tie cheesecloth and squeeze out juice. Soak cotton balls in juice and apply under your eyes for 10 minutes.
Sodium and fluid build-up are the culprits behind puffy under-eyes. Apply products containing caffeine to flush out any excess fluid and reduce swelling.

Homemade helpers Eyebright has been used for centuries to treat inflammation from colds and sinus infections—just be sure not to drink it! To make, take 600 mL of boiling water and pour over 1 handful of eyebright. Let mixture cool and strain. Dissolve honey into the infusion. Soak cotton pads in solution and leave them on the eyes for 20 minutes. (Do not use this natural remedy if you're pregnant or breastfeeding.)
Sun damage is the number one cause of fine lines and wrinkles! Prevention is the key: Always wear sunglasses and sunscreen! If the damage is already done, retinol can promote collagen production to plump your skin.
