Shoes and belts are more than just pieces to hold up your pants and protect your feet, gentlemen! David Clemmer dropped in to chat with Chris about which shoes and belts you should pair with your wardrobe. Everything featured in this segment is available at The Bay.
Comfortable footwear isn't just about the sneakers. A great boot, oxford or loafer is a wonderful way to stay comfortable on your feet, but still dress up an easy-going look. Casual belts can be woven or leather and generally have a more natural, raw finish. If you're feeling adventurous you can incorporate colour into the belt and an interesting buckle for some personality.
If you're going out for a casual date night or weekend brunch - switch the jeans for khakis and add a more polished belt to match the slightly dressier spirit. Have some fun with embossed leather sneakers, a nice driving shoe or rugged boot.
Finally, when wearing a suit, you should select the most polished shoe and belt options available in your closet. You can have fun with finishes - an embossed leather belt or patent shoe can really kick up that suit! If you're dressing down your suit for work, or an everyday occasion, stick to classic finishes in a clean, brushed metal buckle. Look out for belts that are reversible or come with alternate buckles to match the hardware in your other accessories.
