Erin's Tips for Getting the New Traditional Look in Your Home
New Traditional means taking elements of classic design and bringing in unexpected touches. It's all about stylishly mixing and matching genres, but comfort is key!
Get the New Traditional Look:
Use strong bold colors that make dramatic impact (i.e. chartreuse and hot pink!)
For a more subtle blast of color, add bold colored piping to throw pillows.
Modern art looks fabulous in a traditional space! Modern elements like this really bring the look of New Traditional together.
Animal patterns are an exciting touch, especially when they're fake!
Choose books in the same color palette as the room and arrange them into pretty stacks.
Combining textures like velvets and silks can give any room a lovely energy.
The best part of New Traditional is that you don't have to run out and buy everything new. A vintage, marble-topped table looks stunning paired with contemporary upholstered chairs. Or, try finishing an antique dresser in silver paint.
