Question: Hi Steven and Chris, I need help with the drapes in my living room/dining room area. We like the floor to ceiling look, but HATE the fabric. What can I do to unify these two space and what do we do with these drapes? Can you please help!
Thank you, SJ
Steven and Chris say:
Those drapes are really out there and we understand why you want to change them.
Before we get to the drapes though, we want to address your question about unifying the space. The space has a few key elements we would like to discuss in order to move this space on its way
We think that the chandelier could stand to be replaced in order to tie all of the elements here together. A classically shaped chandelier but with modern finishes will achieve the look we think you are looking for here
We would like to see you bring that colour and pattern down from the drapes on to the floor. Area rugs are a great way to add a huge amount of personality without feeling overwhelming.
You have the perfect space for great bold pieces of art. We suggest using the height of the ceiling to your advantage and investing in some fantastic large/bold pieces of art.
Because your space is so large, we would like you to consider neutralizing the colour. We would actually like to see you paint the walls white - Because your walls are so large we really think that it is the best option.
Now to the curtains. We actually think that you should invest in beautiful white linen drapes. - They will add softness to this space that we think it needs.
