"Fancy Up" Your Condiments

Sure, you can spread some plain mustard on your sandwich, or dip your fries in ketchup but why not bump your condiments up a notch and impress your guests and your family? Today, Steven makes some simple recipes that will take your condiments to the next level.

Tex-Mex Ketchup

1 cup ketchup
½ tsp cumin
1 ¼ tsp chili powder
3 dashes Worcestershire sauce
½ lime squeezed for juice
Cilantro to taste (can use parsley as substitution)

Can be served in a medium or larger sized, hollowed out tomato.
Spread on burgers, hot dogs, sausages or add some to your mac and cheese for a bit of kick! Of course, you can always dip fries in this too.

"Better-Than-A-Pickle" Mustard Spread

2 tbsp yellow mustard
Fresh dill to taste

Serve on a Montreal smoked meat sandwich, hamburgers or hot dogs!

Sweet and Sour Dipping Sauce

¼ cup honey
¼ tsp fresh ginger, minced
3 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 squirt chili paste (1 tsp for adults, ¼ tsp for kids)
2 tbsp ketchup

Mix in a saucepan over medium heat.
Serve with chicken fingers.     

Curry-Garlic French Fry Dip

1 cup of mayonnaise
1 ¼ tsp curry powder
1 tsp garlic puree

Serve with fries!

For a veggie dip add 2 tbsp sour cream to the mixture.


Mayo-Terragon Spread

¼ cup Mayonnaise
2 tbsp shallots, finely chopped
2 tbsp fresh tarragon, finely chopped
Zest of ½ lemon
Juice of ½ lemon

Serve with grilled salmon or use as a dip for French Fries. For a veggie dip add 2 tbsp sour cream to the mixture
