Steven created 3 simple beautiful wall art DIY projects that you can try in your home. Here how...

1. Epoxied Photograph Mounted on Artist Board

The project:
Mounting a travel photo onto artist board and epoxying it for a sleek modern look.

What you'll need:

Steps:
1.  Based on the size of your painting panel, have your photograph printed in the same size. Stronger and sturdier paper will yield the best results.
2.  Paint the sides of your painting panel black (any colour that corresponds with your photograph will do).
3.  Spray the back of your photograph with your spray adhesive.
4.  Adhere the photo to the front of your painting panel (if your photo is to large and hanging over the edges, remove the excess by turning your painting panel upside down and using the edges as a guide for your exacto blade)
5.  Once your photo is adhered allow approximately 10-15 minutes for the spray adhesive to dry thoroughly.
6.  Follow the instructions to activate your epoxy and pour it directly onto your photograph.
7.  Working quickly, use your sponge brush to distribute the epoxy evenly over the entire surface. Be sure to finish with the sides to keep the gloss looking uniform.

2. Shadow Box with Map Butterflies
The project: Using old travel maps to create a shadow box filled with simulated taxidermy butterflies.

Steps
:
1.  Remove the backing from your shadow box
2.  Using your spray adhesive adhere sections of your map or atlas to your file folder (this will give the maps some needed stability).
3.  Create a fold in your map/folder. This will become the center of your butterfly
4.  Using the templates provided and your scissors, cut out half a butterfly from your folded map/folder.
5.  Unfold your map/folder to reveal a full butterfly
6.  Create enough butterflies to fill your shadow box (be sure not to overcrowd it).
7.  Cut your cardboard towel roll into half-inch sections.
8.  With a small dot of hot glue attach the towel roll to the back side of the butterflies.
9.  Line up all your butterflies and attach them to the backing of the shadow box with small amount of hot glue.

3. Floating Canvas with Hidden Storage
The project: Using two floating frames to create hidden wall storage for odds and ends.

What you'll need:

Steps:
1.  Attach your two wooden floating frames together using your cabinet hinges (be sure that the top floating frame is positioned correctly for your canvas)
2.  Add two rubber stops to the corners of the unhinged side
3.  Attach your small trunk latch to the unhinged side of your floating frames
4.  Paint the canvas as you wish and allow it to dry completely.
5.  Stain or paint your floating frames if you wish and allow it to dry completely.
6.  Insert your canvas into the floating frame and secure with finishing nails.
7.  Secure the frame to the wall and open it up for the ultimate secret storage!
