TIPS FOR CREATING A SUCCESSFUL PROFILE:

1. SHOW - DON'T TELL!

If you're funny don't say it... write it! If you're an intellectual show that through your choice of words. Showing your personality also allows your profile to be unique, so you can stand out from the rest!

Example: The best part of my trip to Greece was climbing Mount Olympus!

2. POSITIVE ATTRACTS

No one wants to hear that your ex was a jerk or how you are just giving the online thing a try. Don't be negative in any way! Nobody wants to chat with a person who always has troubles at work or who thinks that life sucks and who is always disappointed. Remember that being positive and fun is like a magnet.

3. PICTURE PERFECT!

Choose a well-lit head-and-shoulders shot for your primary photograph. Reserve action shots and group shots for the additional photos section. Be sure that you're smiling in your primary photo and that the picture really looks like you and is RECENT. ONLY post one or two photos - leave people wanting to see more!

4. HONESTY IS THE POLICY

Describe yourself not just fully but also correctly. In the end, you are looking for a person that really matches you in all ways, not with fake interests and traits of character that you made up. Your goal is to attract prospective partners online and meet them in person, so if you create a false identity on the Internet , the second phase of the process becomes very complicated.

FLAG: Don't take the honesty too far and reveal too much information. I.E. I hate my mother because she cheated on my father...

5. PROOFREAD!

Spell-check and make sure there are no glaring grammar errors. You don't want people judging your intelligence, attention to detail, or education before they have a chance to meet you. People have so little to judge you on that grammar becomes a BIGGIE!

6. PERSPECTIVE IS EVERYTHING!

Read it over, take a couple of days and post it when you feel it's totally your best!
CONSIDER: What type of person do you think would be attracted to what you wrote - is it who you are looking for?
Remember you have to go through quantity to find quality - finding the right person will take time!
