Rachel Matthews covers the fashion basics for making your new hot fall trends work in all sorts of weather!
Tips from Rachel:
Fabrics and prints that look very summery can be 'winterised' with the right combination of other garments. Eg. floral, flirty little skirts - just add a long sleeve blouse over a short sleeve one, tights instead of bare legs, boots over shoes
Add the hot accessory of the season - a beret
Try suede shoes, belts and purses over leather
Add a pashmina type scarf to a jacket, blouse, or dress
Change the purse - darker colours, heavier fabrics
Change up your jewelry - bangles and necklaces in darker colours, or wooden vs. beads. Gold and silver work all year round!
Use opaque tights in all kinds of colours to wear with your ballet flats/heels
Cardigans are a hot commodity this season. Add them to summer tops and jeans, instead of buttoning it up all the way. Use a belt to close it that will give interest - cinch the waist and give a summer undershirt a more winter feel
