Rachel Matthews covers the fashion basics for making your new hot fall trends work in all sorts of weather!
Tips from Rachel:
- Fabrics and prints that look very summery can be 'winterised' with the right combination of other garments. Eg. floral, flirty little skirts - just add a long sleeve blouse over a short sleeve one, tights instead of bare legs, boots over shoes
- Add the hot accessory of the season - a beret
- Try suede shoes, belts and purses over leather
- Add a pashmina type scarf to a jacket, blouse, or dress
- Change the purse - darker colours, heavier fabrics
- Change up your jewelry - bangles and necklaces in darker colours, or wooden vs. beads. Gold and silver work all year round!
- Use opaque tights in all kinds of colours to wear with your ballet flats/heels
- Cardigans are a hot commodity this season. Add them to summer tops and jeans, instead of buttoning it up all the way. Use a belt to close it that will give interest - cinch the waist and give a summer undershirt a more winter feel
