Robin Antin, creator of "Pussycat Dolls" and "Girlicious," shares her tips on how to pick the right heel to hit dance floor with and how to dance in heels.
Tip #1 - THE RIGHT SHOE
- Avoid backless heels
- Avoid toeless heels
- Don't go too high! For starters consider a chunkier heel, then graduate to a stiletto
- Heels with a platform on the front part of shoe are much easier to dance with!
- Boots give the best ankle support
Tip #2 - SQUEEZE YOUR BUNS!
- Dancing gives you a great butt! If you squeeze while you practice, it helps the workout.
Tip #3 - PRESSURE OF YOUR BODY WEIGHT TO STAY SAFE
- Pressure needs to be on the balls of your feet, but pressing down your Latissimus Dorsi (the muscles under your arms) will always help with your balance.
- Stretching first before any kind of dancing, especially in heels is important, especially your hamstrings, calves, rotating your ankles, and stretching out the arches in your feet, like professional dancers do!
TIP #4 - SEXIEST DANCE MOVE
- Best/SEXIEST dance move anyone can do with high heels on
- Its called a hip/squat/dip....
- View the video (Episode 42) to do it along with Robin and Chris!
TIP #5 - BAND-AIDS AND ADVIL
- Nothing sexier than dancing in HIGH Heels, but it can be painful! But we LOVE it!
- Carry a stash of band-aids and Advil with you - PUT THOSE IN YOUR MATCHING PURSE!
