i am currently 7 1/2 months pregnant and have been very ontop of the clothing budget. being that i don't want to overspend b/c i intend on getting back to pre-pregnancy size I found that american apparel has great fun styles & very very comfortable clothing. anything jersey and skirts have been my saviour - very forgiving. i like chunky jewelry so I dress up all my outfits with fun necklaces, ear rings, bracelets or rings. i have not purchased any mat pants - just bigger sizes (and always bought them on sale) this way when I am done with them I can give the pants to my girlfriends that are that size .. imagine me offering a pair of maternity pants to the same gal? she'd hate me!
i have been able to spend about $300 so far in my pregnancy and still look stylish.

I am a 21 year old fashion design student and am currently 8 months pregnant. I work at a great fashion-forward store called Le Chateau and so I am always surrounded by the latest trends! Since i've been pregnant and me being a young, fashion-conscious person, I wanted to make sure that I could still be a fashionable mommy and to inspire other women that they can still do the same! My favourite summer item that is fashionable would have to be the maxi dress! It's long, lightweight and there is lots of room ( because of all the extra material ) for a growing tummy! Plus, it's definitely still wearable for after pregnancy. My only tip would be to watch how the bust area fits because while you are pregnant, you are GAINING in the chest area. I have had many compliments wearing a maxi dress while pregnant and I would suggest it to anyone who is looking for that trendy piece that is comfortable for the new mommy!
