We are continually mystified by the fighting rules in hockey. Why the
refs regularly seem to entertain a few minutes of hand-to-hand combat,
before sending someone to the box, never appears to have much logic. The
official NHL Rule Book does however outline detailed guidelines for
members of the on-ice fight club.
