Canada's Filip Peliwo earns spot in Wimbledon junior final
Canada's Filip Peliwo is off to his third junior Grand Slam final of the season thanks to a 5-7, 7-6 (3), 6-3 victory Friday over Mitchell Kreuger of the U.S. in the boys' semfinals at Wimbledon.
The 18-year-old from Vancouver lost both the Australian and French Open finals this year but will be hoping to make it third time lucky when he plays Australian Luke Saville, who defeated Italy's Gianluigi Quinzi, 6-3, 6-4 in the other semi.
Saville beat Peliwo for the Melbourne junior title in January.
Meanwhile on the girls' side, No. 5 seed Eugenie Bouchard of Montreal will take on No. 3 Elena Svitolina of Ukraine.
Bouchard beat Anett Kontaveit of Estonia 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 in their semifinal, while Svitolina beat Montreal's Francoise Abanda, 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 at the All England Club.
Peliwo, who was devastated by his finals defeat a month ago in Paris, showed solid form as he recovered from a set and a break down against Kreuger.
