Canadians on a roll at Bowling World Cup

Canadians Caroline Lagrange and Michael Schmidt reached the round-robin match-play round Wednesday at the Bowling World Cup in Melaka, Malaysia.

Lagrange, of Montreal, bowled 278 in the fourth game of her final eight-game block to help her remain in third place overall.

Zara Glover of England finished atop the women's standings with 7,026 pins, followed by Siti Safiyah Amirah of Malaysia at 6,963 and Lagrange at 6,864.

Schmidt is in fourth place in the men's division with 7,165 pins, just four back of Martin Larsen of Sweden.

Choi Yong-Kyu of Korea finished first at 7,358, followed by Ryan Lalisang of Indonesia at 7,201.
