The trading of sniper Dany Heatley has not affected the Ottawa Senators through the first five games of the season.

Ottawa dropped its season opener to the New York Rangers but reeled off three straight wins over the Toronto Maple Leafs, New York Islanders and Atlanta Thrashers before losing 4-1 to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday night.

Captain Daniel Alfredsson and centre Mike Fisher are off to solid starts as they each have scored two goals and two assists.

Can Alfredsson, Fisher and Jason Spezza carry the load for a full season? Will the Senators thrive without Heatley? And can new additions Alex Kovalev, Milan Michalek and Jonathan Cheechoo pick up where Heatley left off?

CBCSports.ca will cover these topics and recap Ottawa's loss to Pittsburgh on Tuesday at 1 p.m. ET with Peter Raaymakers of the fine Silver Seven Sens blog http://www.silversevensens.com.
