Heavy snow has cancelled Saturday's Game 3 in the Philadelphia-Colorado baseball playoff at Denver.

The game will be made up Sunday night at 10:07 p.m. ET, with right-hander Pedro Martinez likely to make his first post-season start since 2004 against the Rockies' righty Jason Hammel.

"If moving it back because there's going to be much better weather … that would be the most sensible thing to do … because, you know, Game 3 in a series that's 1-1, it's a fairly pivotal game," Rockies manager Jim Tracy said.

Players' safety also has to be considered.

"You could have something happen in weather like this where you could lose a player for half a year in 2010," Tracy said. "I don't think that would be good for anybody."

Game 4 will go on Monday night and if needed, Game 5 would be back at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia on Tuesday.

The temperature for Sunday's game should reach 10 C.

The lowest temperature for a Major League Baseball playoff game came in Game 4 of the 1997 Indians-Marlins World Series in Cleveland, which was played at 1.67 C. Saturday night's temperature in Denver was expected to be slightly colder than that.
